Question by Anthony R: What is “codec” in regards with camcorders and computers? I have recently purchased the sony handy cam DRS-45 model and I am keen on making and editing videos via windows movie maker. However when I try to import clips from the camera into the movie maker it says that the codec required to play the file is not installed on my computer. Any help with this guys?

Question by havanasunrise87: Codec for PDAs? I uploaded a video onto my PDA via the SD card, but all i got was audio, the file opened in windows media as it should have the the screen was blank. I was wondering if there were any codecs like DivX that i could download for PDAs?
