Question by flight777: Are there any small camcorders that can record higher than 25Mbps in SD? Looking for something the size of the Canon GL2 or smaller than can record SD video (720×480) at higher bitrates than 25Mbps. I don’t care if it does HD or not. Thanks!

Answer by laresure, the JVC DigitalS line takes a VHS size cassette and shoots at 50 mbps in D9 format. those are obsolete and hard to find. the Panasonic DVCpro line had a few camcorders that also recorded at 50 mbps (standard DVCpro is 25 mbps DV format). More >
