What’s the best site for free online Alto Saxophone Sheet Music?
Question by Leorge: What’s the best site for free online Alto Saxophone Sheet Music?
I need a site to get free sheet music
How exactly is sheet music illegal? I thought it was only illegal if they charged for sheet music and the artists didn’t get their share. Like what most guitar tabs sites are sued for.

You can’t. Our laws usually restrict on getting illegal items. Get a music lesson on your favorite instrunment, etc.

all sheet music is protected for about 90 years
any copies of it before then are illegal unless the artist allows it
It is called the “COPY” right law, and you can not make copies of it
whether you sell them or use them yourself
illegal

In fact, sheet music can be free and legal at the same time – and im not talking about the public domain music only. E.g. here’s the sheet music for Alto Sax as you need http://www.load.cd/sheetmusic/instrumentation/198_alto_saxophone/
There are a lot of free scores there because the composers who published their sheet music through the site decide themselves how much they would like to charge for their works – that can be a couple of bucks or absolutely free of charge, that’s up to them. So, the point is – free music CAN be fully legal
