Hello Yuan and thank you. Nice Rafi-Asha duet. All other male songs were by Mukesh but this one tops them all. Notice the music resembling “Dadi amma dadi amma maan jao ji” from Gharana and “Jab chali thandi hawa jab udi kali ghata” from Do Badan.

@Voltairec – My dear friend, what to say?
I am ASTOUNDED by your extremely kind words!
[By the way, I have learned many good words like THAT from the friends here at You Tube!]
Yes, as you said very correctly, actually there are no boundaries for good music.
As I always used say everywhere, after all, we are talking of THE BEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD, the Hindustani music!
Thank you my dear friend for your comment with extremely kind words.
May God bless you.

@samynz – Thank you my friend AGAIN for the kind words.
Actually, you are not alone for that matter [my nationality and the gender too!]. Almost all the YT friends [used to] think the same way!!!
I have been thinking myself about this. May be my last birth place was India, we never know!
However, if you happen meet a Sri Lankan over 5 years, just ask him/her about Hindi songs and you will genuinely be surprised at his/her knowledge, I am sure.
Simply, We are “addicted”, my friend.
Take care.

Thanks Yuan. For some reason I am not able to accept the fact that your Sri Lankan – and that reason is only when I listen to your extremely beautiful collection of songs, you have given your heart and soul into golden era of Hindi music of Indian cinema. These songs were my father’s favorite and obviously my one too now. So I grew up listening these songs and your collection reminds me my good old days.

@samynz – Thank you my dear friend for your comment with extremely kind words towards me!
As a Hindustani Music Lover from the sub continent [Sri Lanka], what I can say [humbly] is that I am proud to hear what you have just stated.
As many of our friends are aware, we do not know Hindi/Urdu but we the Sri Lankans know, how to admire/appreciate and enjoy good music.
As I always used to say, after all, we are talking of THE BEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD!!!
May God bless you and the family too.

This song is a good lesson for the present day music directors on what is soothing music. No need to do acrobatics with the notes; no need to mercilessly torture the rhythm! A real classic from Mohammed Rafi Sahib, sung in his distinctive composed and relaxed manner.

Calming lotion for the aching ears!
Smooth like a still water lake, yet drills straight into your heart!

These are some “OK” comments but I am always confused when ppl are so slow & dim-witted. Without the ANGELIC voice of Mohd Rafi Saab… this song couldn’t fly. I can imagine how this song would have sounded had it been recorded in any of his contemporaries voices and sadly it could NEVER hold this Heavenly feeling. His voice is surreal and will live forever. Rajendra Kumar & all the rest were good in their own way but without RafiSaab… they were NOTHING! I ask that God Bless Him Always!

Wow! Is this great or what. The scene is completely surreal but Rajendra Kumar, Meena Kumari, Asha and Rafi make it all too real and lovely.
The beauty of these old songs — it is true artistry — celebrating the best in humans — honesty, love, commitment, etc.
