I am traveling to Cairo, Egypt from Portland, Oregon. I know i need a passport, but what else would i need. Would i need a visa to travel to that country? just need to know everything i need to enter into Egypt.

Apart from a valid passport, u could get a visa on arrival (Voa). pls see the link below.

hi,welcome to Egypt any time , first to come to Egypt must you have valid passport, second must you get the visa to entry Egypt( from Egyptian embassy in you country) , then you can come to egypt , also you can make a plane for you visits in egypt and how many days you take there for you holidays

As Lyla said, you need a visa but, as an American citizen, it’s very easy to get it upon arrival at Cairo airport. It costs $ 15, takes about 2 mins to purchase at one of the bank windows and does not require any photos. When you enter the arrivals hall, head straight to one of the bank windows. You should see a sign that says ‘Visa $ 15′ on the window so you know you’re at the right one. They will give you a self adhesive half page sticker; just stick it on any available page in your passport and proceed to the immigration line. You must get the visa BEFORE you get on the immigration line. Many people make this mistake.

Passport and 15 US Bucks to pay for the visa on Arrival.
Other regulations are standard Aviation regulations as for Max. luggage weight and other stuff.

the vis is not need to worry about it, it can be managed easily upon your arrival to any of the Egyptian airports, it cost 15 $ .
my advice for you to try contact someone from this travel company, they can give you a good help, as my family and some friends try trips with them before, they give a good care for them.
