Because they have no talent and thats the only way they’ll get noticed.

That is Lady Gagas swagger, and I think shes amazing, personality and looks wise. And most guys I know would rather buy a sexy girls album then an ugly girls album. And you forgot other girls like Rihanna, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Spice Girls etc who also dress like sluts in their music videos.

not all of them but you can definitely tell the difference from these days and a long long time ago it seems.
but we also have women who don’t do that

and they do it because everyone knows now a days people are EXTREMELY stupid and don’t even know what anything is especially music, they could put mute on and everyone would say what “great artists” they are.
and look at Shakira look at her video she-wolf that whole video is sex sex all she did was climb a cage rub her azz and yell “ahoo” and she sold records.
Anyone can become famous through that, we must all admit that they have no talent, nor does anyone care about actual true talent.

Offer a straight guy the choice between listening to music and seeing scantily clad women. Almost all of them will choose the latter, and those who didn’t are lying. Sex sells. Period.

I worked as a DJ on the world’s most northern radio station, CHAR-FM, at Alert. (Alas, since closed.)
In the record library, I was passing the country section (ew!) on my way to what I was looking for. They had an excellent library back then, with records going back to the 1950′s. I noticed the covers – the newer they were, the more attractive the album covers. The covers if the 50′s and early 60′s just showed a woman. By the 90′s, they were all gorgeous – few, if any were not.
So, does talent sell music, or looks? Once upon a time it was talent, but I am not so sure about that now. I do not know if the pop section would show the same thing, but it was very evident in the Country and Western area, that’s for sure.
My guess is that being talented has not been enough to be a success for a while, and perhaps simple beauty is no longer enough either. Maybe the need to dress like that to sell their music.
