Is the Hummer H3 really just a “kit car”?
Question by Whoops, is this your spleeen?: Is the Hummer H3 really just a “kit car”?
Instead of making a smaller Hummer, GM actually took their large Chevy pickup platform and engine and designed a hummer-looking shell – wahla, the H3! So is it actually a Hummer or just a chevy pickup in disguise?

both the H2 and H3 are built on a Chevy truck frame that’s why they cost less to buy because it cost less to build.

It says Hummer on the grill, so it’s a Hummer.

Many cars share a chassis but are clearly unique cars (ie. Infinity G35 & Nissan 350Z). Suspension and other bits are tuned differently for the other car. It doesn’t mean it is a kit car.
