you can use 2 network cards on one of them and crossover connect seccond to first or just get a switch or rooter and conect both of them into it

If they are already networked I am surprised that you are having problems connecting online. You might want to run Xp’s network setup.

Get a router like Netgear. Best if it is wireless. The routers come with all the instructions. Then set up your Windows Network. There is a wizard that will set it up for you. Then using Windows Explorer go to the properties of the folder like My Documents, right click and select “properties” and chose “sharing”. This will allow both computers to see the internet independant of each other and allow each computer in your “home network” to share folders.

the easist and simplest and also the most effective way to do so, it to purchase a switch, smallest switches has 4 ports and its very cheap about 10-20$.

this is easy to do. you don’t need to contact your isp. Here’s what to do:
Buy a 4 or 5 port router and an extra cat5 network cable.
Remove your computer’s network cable from the dsl modem.
Plug the new network cable into the modem; then plug the other end into the input port on the router.
Plug the network cables for your two computers into output ports on the router.
You will need to do some configuring on your router. Read and follow the directions carefully.
Configure your computers to receive their IP address from the router.
That’s all there is to it. Enjoy!
